WhyDev and Monash University entered into a partnership to create an online mentoring program initially for Master of International Development Practice students. To date, 150 participants from around the world have been matched. It is the vision of both organisations that the Colab m will be extended to university students and development practitioners around the world.
The WhyDev Fellowship Program grew from the need to support students and recent graduates committed to global development. Grounded in the belief that there should be equitable access to professional work experience, the program places fellows with community partners for a duration of four to six months. WhyDev Fellows gain a holistic understanding of the development sector, build their skills and work collaboratively with national counterparts. They are exposed to the complexities of development and matched with a mentor as they collaborate with community partners on global issues from health and gender to livelihoods and sustainable development. It is WhyDev’s hope that this program will open new opportunities and support future generations of development practitioners committed to getting development right. Meet the current Fellows!
